The Cannabis Issue
Most countries are actively enforcing the illegality of marijuana and/or hemp, while allowing alcohol and possibly other mind altering substances to be legal. Marijuana isn't a particularly harmful or addictive substance, unlike alcohol. The user doesn't cause harm to others by using it. A substantial percentage of the world population don't oppose the use of marijuana. There are actual benefits it can have for some, such as pain relief, reduction of nausea, and helping with sleep. It is a very valuable market world wide, and taped into can help fund a nation.
Hemp is a wonder material, it can be used for building, fuel, paper, rope, cloth, food, and many other things. It's association with marijuana and competition with the lumber and oil industries make it a rather taboo material. Although using it may be legal in many countries, growing it is illegal in many as well.
In the Antiquitian Empire it is legal to grow and use, although we don't encourage the over consumption of marijuana. Hemp is hopefully going to be one of our most commonly used materials and a large export of ours in the future, as it allows for a more environmentally friendly carbon footprint.

The Copyright Issue
Recently it has seemed the more and more work has been barred from the public domain, and it's been made more difficult for public domain material to be used. We wish to overturn this concept of strict copyright and instead establish a system where original work belongs to it's maker, but may be reused for nonprofit purposes or altered significantly and/or added to something larger, used in a forprofit work, but with credit given. We feel major corporations have been abusing copyright laws, and preventing artists from gaining deserved recognition for work they've created. It's often removed from websites, such as Youtube, by systems that don't check to see if it's nonprofit or considerably altered.
We hoped progression can be made as a society if someones work can altered and spread. It's a form of sharing ideas and concepts. Instead of stagnating with one work being replicated by it's owners and all modifications being censored and removed, they can change and evolve, reflecting changes in culture and different perspectives of class.
